Animation Showreel

My first year animation Showreel.
I enjoy putting them together and recapping to my earlier animations. I guess I can say that I improve with 3D animation. More practice on the future.

Ranger Rick animatic

Animatic for my storyboard Ranger Rick!
Tokk a while for me to get the timing with the voice lines. Some of the sceen is too long. I should have put in more panels to show more movement for the characters.

Character anatomy sketch

My two character sketch ( done in paint tool Sai ).
Personal character design and anatomy practice. I have no problem with the female figure at all. Mostly I tend to favor drawing female. For the male body, I rely heavily on real life pose reference. It helps be understand the body posters, muscles placements and body structure better. Also, Understanding the body also help me when im drawing clothe on my character; knowing where the folds of the shirt would be , how high and low the skirt and pants are.

Burt walk cycle

Burt was a tricky animation to do at the beginning. mostly just trying to get the first non loop walk cycle to move forward in a flow. I was mostly focus on the leg's movement at first. Trying to get the joint right, where the pressure will be at each steps. Once I think I have the foot work done, I start looking a the hips. though it might not stand out as much yet but it does help the walk look more natural. The walk loop, went through the same process as the normal walk. Again, the foot work and the other body movements on the hips.

Squish playground.

Animate squishy ball in an environment. I had a bit of trouble getting the ball to move in a flow. Since my first animation with Squishy ,The light and heavy bounce weren't as good and there weren't much of a difference between them. This exercise, I tried to put in more small movements into the ball. The small bounce in the end of the clip seems to give the ball more flexibility.
